Joseph Nothing. Everyone should have Dreamland Idle Orchestra (its on my blog). His latest album Shambhala Number One is great too.

Thank you so much!! I'll do a complete list of anything of this style I have tonight. Then if you want anything, just take your pick.
I've wanted to get some Miho Hatori for a long long time.

I like this thread as I really enjoy japanese music but can you really call it a style or a genre? The only thing these artists have in common is that they all play electronic music and they're from Japan. You can't really call it a scene, right?

i think in some cases music from a certain location in a certain genre will share a similar aesthetic. like german techno for instance.

If you listen to a lot of Japanese artists, you find they are friends, or have worked together; Piana with World's End Girlfriend and Lullatone, or Tujiko Noriko and Aoki Takamasa being just some obvious examples.

Dude, seriously, anything you can upload would be great. If I had to pick only a few I would say: Lullatone, Ryoji Ikeda, Ametsub and Susumu Yokota's "Laputa".

nice thread xhyperballadx. I haven't even heard half of those artists. And all that I have I really like. I've heard WEG, Yasushi Yoshida, Yokota, Sakamoto, Ikeda, Lullatone, Daisuke, Alva Noto + Sakamoto and Kosemura. So of any of the other artists, any album you recommend and upload? Sawako and Aoki Takamasa look promising.
btw I have some you didn't mention, and if you want I can upload. Akira Kosemura & Haruka Nakamura - Afterglow Kashiwa Daisuke - april.#02 Kashiwa Daisuke - Deepblue Kazumasa Hashimoto - Gllia No.9 - Good Morning Opitope - Hau Radicalfashion - Odori Shuta Hasunuma - OK Bamboo Susumu Yokota - Grinning Cat Tenniscoats - Tan-Tan Therapy Tenniscoats - Totemo Aimasho Varios Artists - Add To Friends World's End Girlfriend - Ending Story World's End Girlfriend - The Lie Lay Land Takeshi Nishimoto - Monologue (It's actually acoustic but really nice) and Yuichiro Fujimoto (that's on Ian's thread in the downloads section)
